About Premiata Forneria Marconi
Premiata Forneria Marconi is an Italian progressive-rock band formed in Milan in 1970. The group became known for intricate, symphonic arrangements on albums including Storia di un minuto and Per un amico; material from the latter was reworked with English lyrics for Photos of Ghosts.
In 1973, Premiata Forneria Marconi performed at Reading Festival while establishing an audience beyond Italy. Concerts on a 1974 North American tour were documented on Cook, released in Italy as Live in USA. Later in the decade, the band toured with Fabrizio De André, arranging his songs for the stage and recording the concerts that became two live albums with Fabrizio De André.
