Public Image Ltd. are a British post-punk band formed in London in 1978 by singer John Lydon after the Sex Pistols. The original lineup also included guitarist Keith Levene, bassist Jah Wobble and drummer Jim Walker. Their best-known records include the single “Public Image,” the albums Metal Box and The Flowers of Romance, and the song “Rise.” The band played its first concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre on Christmas Day 1978. At New York’s Ritz in 1981, the musicians performed behind a projection screen during a show that ended in disorder. After a long break from touring, Public Image Ltd. reconvened for a UK tour in 2009 and performed at Coachella in 2010.
Plague Vendor is an American punk-rock band formed in Whittier, California, in 2009. The group plays garage punk and post-punk, and is known for the albums Free to Eat, Bloodsweat and By Night, as well as songs including “Black Sap Scriptures” and “Locomotive.” The band played the Vans Warped Tour in 2014, shortly after its debut album arrived. Two years later, it performed at Coachella.
