About Puerto Candelaria
Puerto Candelaria is a Colombian band formed in Medellín in 2000 by pianist and composer Juancho Valencia. The group plays cumbia and other Colombian tropical rhythms through jazz-oriented arrangements and theatrical humor. Its catalogue includes the albums Vuelta Canela and Amor y Deudas; Yo Me Llamo Cumbia won the Latin Grammy for Best Cumbia Album.
Puerto Candelaria has performed at Rock al Parque in Bogotá. Outside Colombia, the band has also played Glastonbury Festival in England and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
