Artists
Pure Reason Revolution are a British progressive rock band formed at the University of Westminster in 2003. Led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Jon Courtney, the group became known through the album The Dark Third and songs including “The Bright Ambassadors of Morning” and “Apprentice of the Universe.” Later records such as Amor Vincit Omnia, Hammer and Anvil and Eupnea brought electronic textures into their long-form rock writing and layered vocals. Pure Reason Revolution supported Porcupine Tree on European dates in the mid-2000s before performing at NEARfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 2007. That festival set was later released as Live at NEARfest 2007. After re-forming, the band returned to the stage in 2022 for appearances including Midsummer Prog Festival in the Netherlands.
