Purity Ring in Vancouver

Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic-pop duo formed in Edmonton in 2010 by vocalist Megan James and producer Corin Roddick. They became known through the album Shrines and songs including “Fineshrine” and “Obedear,” followed by the albums another eternity and WOMB. The duo toured North America and Europe behind Shrines in 2012 and 2013, then opened selected dates on Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour in 2015. After touring another eternity, they returned to the road for the WOMB tour in 2022. Purity Ring performs as a two-person electronic setup: Megan James sings while Corin Roddick handles electronic arrangements and percussion, including a custom-built instrument whose illuminated pods respond when struck. The duo’s festival appearances have included Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and Coachella in Indio.
