Purple Schulz in Eckernförde

Purple Schulz is a German singer-songwriter and keyboard player, born Rüdiger Schulz in Cologne in 1956. Associated with the Neue Deutsche Welle era and German-language pop, he became known in the 1980s through “Sehnsucht,” “Verliebte Jungs” and “Kleine Seen.” The concert programme Der Sing des Lebens brought his later songwriting to theatre stages, followed by the autobiographical ÜBER(s)LEBEN. He subsequently revisited four decades of songs in Sehnsucht bleibt!, a programme named after his best-known recording. Purple Schulz performs as a singer, storyteller and keyboard player, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Markus Wienstroer on guitar and violin.
