Kiyoshi Maekawa in Isahaya

Kiyoshi Maekawa is a Japanese kayōkyoku and enka singer, born in Sasebo in 1948. He became known as the lead vocalist of Hiroshi Uchiyamada and Cool Five, whose repertoire included “Nagasaki wa Kyō mo Ame Datta,” “Soshite, Kōbe” and “Tokyo Sabaku,” before establishing a solo career with songs such as “Otoko to Onna no Kakera.” NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen featured him repeatedly, first with Cool Five and later as a solo singer. His live work has also included theatre productions combining acted sections and a concert, including engagements at Meijiza in Tokyo and Shin Kabukiza in Osaka.
