About Qntal
Qntal are a German group formed in 1991 by musicians including Sigrid Hausen, Michael Popp and Ernst Horn. Their music uses medieval European texts and melodies, electronic rhythms and darkwave textures; “Ad Mortem Festinamus” and their setting of “Palästinalied” are among their best-known recordings.
Qntal have built their concerts around Hausen’s lead voice, electronic programming, percussion and medieval instruments played by Popp. Their festival history includes Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig and M’era Luna in Hildesheim.
