Querbeat in Cologne

Querbeat is a German brass-pop band formed in Bonn in 2001, known for horn-led pop, funk and carnival music closely associated with Cologne’s carnival. Its best-known songs include “Nie mehr Fastelovend,” “Dä Plan” and “Guten Morgen Barbarossaplatz,” while “Randale & Hurra” and “Radikal Positiv” are among its major albums. Querbeat has turned Randale & Freunde at the Rheinaue into its own open-air festival and has also headlined the LANXESS arena. The full ensemble performs with trumpets, trombones, saxophones, sousaphone, drums and multiple vocalists. Away from its Rhineland base, the band has played Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel and Southside Festival in Neuhausen ob Eck.
