Rapsody in Los Angeles

Rapsody is an American rapper and songwriter from Snow Hill, North Carolina. She first recorded as a member of the group Kooley High before establishing a solo career through 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records. Her work includes the albums Laila’s Wisdom, Eve and Please Don’t Cry, as well as a guest verse on Kendrick Lamar’s “Complexion (A Zulu Love).” In 2017, Rapsody performed a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR’s Washington headquarters, presenting material from Laila’s Wisdom with a live band. The Wisdom Is Power Tour followed in 2018, and she later headlined the Please Don’t Cry Tour in 2024.
