Ray Wylie Hubbard in Dallas

Ray Wylie Hubbard is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and bandleader born in Soper, Oklahoma, in 1946. He is known as the writer of “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother,” popularized by Jerry Jeff Walker, and for country-rock and Americana records including Loco Gringo’s Lament, Snake Farm and The Grifter’s Hymnal. The album Live at Cibolo Creek Country Club documented one of his Texas performances in a listening-room setting. Live at Stubb’s later captured a club show in Austin, and in 2021 he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville.
