René Sydow in Bestwig / Sauerland

René Sydow is a German writer, political cabaret performer, actor and director, born in Radolfzell am Bodensee in 1980. His solo programmes include Gedanken! Los!, Warnung vor dem Munde!, Die Bürde des weisen Mannes, Heimsuchung and In ganzen Sätzen. He has also appeared on the television programmes Die Anstalt and Schlachthof, and wrote and directed the feature films Unter Wölfen, Lamento and Das geheime Zimmer. In 2012, he began performing as an author and cabaret artist on stages across the German-speaking world. He won the North Rhine-Westphalia Poetry Slam championship in 2018, while In ganzen Sätzen received the main Baden-Württemberg Kleinkunstpreis in 2024.
