Rey Ruiz in San Juan

Rey Ruiz is a Cuban salsa singer born in 1966, known for a polished romantic style rooted in salsa and bolero. His self-titled 1992 debut included “No me acostumbro”; “Mi media mitad” and “Creo en el amor” became further staples of his repertoire. Before his solo recording career, Rey Ruiz sang at Havana venues including the Habana Libre and Tropicana. During a performance trip to the Dominican Republic, he left Cuba and later settled in Miami, where he began recording under his own name.
