About Rhythm Future Quartet
Rhythm Future Quartet is a Boston-based acoustic jazz group devoted to gypsy jazz and related swing traditions. Violinist Jason Anick and guitarist Olli Soikkeli lead a quartet completed by rhythm guitarist Max O’Rourke and bassist Greg Loughman. Its name comes from Django Reinhardt’s composition “Rhythm Futur,” and its recordings include the self-titled debut and Travels.
The group performs as a string quartet, pairing violin and lead guitar over rhythm guitar and double bass. Its festival history includes the Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois-sur-Seine and Djangofest Northwest on Whidbey Island.
