Ricardo Villalobos in Toronto

Ricardo Villalobos is a Chilean-German DJ and producer associated with minimal techno and microhouse. The album Alcachofa, including “Easy Lee” and “Dexter,” established the spacious, rhythm-led sound for which he is known. In the 1990s, Ricardo Villalobos became part of Frankfurt’s club circuit and played Omen. His association with Cocoon later took him to its parties in Ibiza, and appearances at Time Warp brought his extended DJ sets to a major festival audience. His performances are long-form DJ sets built largely from vinyl. His club work includes extended sets at fabric in London and Robert Johnson in Offenbach.
