About Richard Cheese
Richard Cheese is an American lounge-singer character created by comedian and musician Mark Jonathan Davis in 2000. Backed by Lounge Against the Machine, he recasts rock, rap and pop songs as swing and cocktail-lounge numbers. His albums include Lounge Against the Machine, Tuxicity and I’d Like a Virgin, while his rendition of “Down with the Sickness” appeared in Zack Snyder’s film Dawn of the Dead.
Richard Cheese has toured with Lounge Against the Machine in clubs, theatres and casino showrooms. He performs as a tuxedoed nightclub singer fronting a jazz combo, and the concert repertoire has included lounge arrangements of “Creep,” “Baby Got Back” and “Down with the Sickness.” The act has also brought this format to shows in Las Vegas.
