Richard Shindell in Newark

Richard Shindell is an American folk singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1960. His narrative songs include “Are You Happy Now?,” “Reunion Hill” and “Transit,” while albums such as Reunion Hill and Somewhere Near Paterson established the central themes and acoustic sound of his solo work. After the self-titled Cry Cry Cry album appeared in 1998, Richard Shindell toured as part of the folk trio behind the record. His solo concerts were later documented on Courier, recorded at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, and Live at the Chandler Music Hall. The trio later reunited for concerts featuring Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky.
