About Ripe

Ripe is an American funk-pop band formed in Boston while its members were studying at Berklee College of Music. The group pairs rock and pop songwriting with funk rhythms and a prominent horn section; its best-known releases include the albums Joy in the Wild Unknown and Bright Blues, as well as songs such as “Talk to the Moon” and “Little Lighter.”

Ripe mounted US headline tours behind both albums, performing with a full band and horns in clubs, theatres and larger hometown rooms. The group has also appeared at Bonnaroo, Boston Calling and Firefly Music Festival.
