Rise Against in Christchurch

Rise Against are an American punk rock band formed in Chicago in 1999. Their melodic hardcore sound and politically engaged lyrics are heard across albums including Siren Song of the Counter Culture and The Sufferer & the Witness. “Savior,” “Prayer of the Refugee” and the acoustic-led “Swing Life Away” are among their best-known songs. Rise Against played the Vans Warped Tour several times during the 2000s and later co-headlined North American dates with Deftones in 2017. In 2018, they mounted the Mourning in Amerika Tour with AFI and Anti-Flag; The Used and Senses Fail joined the 2022 Nowhere Generation Tour. Rise Against have done much of their touring in the United States and Canada. Their European runs have repeatedly included the United Kingdom and Germany.

Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1996. They play fast punk rock with Irish folk melodies and instruments including bagpipes, accordion and mandolin. Their best-known songs include “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” “The State of Massachusetts” and “Rose Tattoo,” while key albums include The Warrior’s Code and The Meanest of Times. Their annual St. Patrick’s Day concerts became a multi-night March tradition near their home city. The band played two concerts at Fenway Park in 2011, then co-headlined the From Boston to Berkeley tour with Rancid in 2017. Outside Massachusetts, Dropkick Murphys have performed at Rock am Ring in Germany and Hellfest in Clisson, France.
