Rob Thomas is an American pop-rock singer-songwriter, born in Landstuhl, West Germany, in 1972. He is the lead singer and principal songwriter of Matchbox Twenty, known for songs including “Push,” “3AM” and “Unwell.” His solo work includes the album Something to Be and the singles “Lonely No More” and “This Is How a Heart Breaks”; he also wrote and sang Santana’s “Smooth.” The Something to Be Tour took him on the road as a solo headliner in 2005, and the Cradlesong Tour followed his second solo album. He returned for The Great Unknown Tour in 2015 and mounted the Chip Tooth Tour in 2019, performing solo material alongside songs associated with Matchbox Twenty.
