Roberto Carlos in Porto Velho

Roberto Carlos is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim in 1941, whose work ranges across rock and roll, MPB and romantic ballads. He co-hosted the 1960s television show Jovem Guarda and built an enduring songwriting partnership with Erasmo Carlos. His best-known songs include “O Calhambeque,” “Como É Grande o Meu Amor por Você,” “Detalhes” and “Emoções.” In 2009, Roberto Carlos marked 50 years in music with a concert at Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. He followed it with a Christmas concert on Copacabana Beach in 2010, then performed at Sultan’s Pool in 2011 for the concert release Roberto Carlos em Jerusalém.
