Artists
Bay City Rollers are a Scottish pop-rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1964. Their bright, hook-led songs and tartan-clad image became central to 1970s teen pop, led by records including “Saturday Night,” “Shang-a-Lang,” “Bye Bye Baby” and “Give a Little Love,” as well as the albums Rollin’ and Once Upon a Star. Bay City Rollers toured Britain, North America and Japan during the height of “Rollermania” in the mid-1970s. Their 1977 performance at Nippon Budokan was documented on Rollerworld: Live at the Budokan. Les McKeown, Alan Longmuir and Stuart Wood later reunited for a 2015 concert at Glasgow Barrowland.
Showaddywaddy are a British rock-and-roll revival band formed in Leicester in 1973. Their sound brought 1950s and early-1960s songs into the glam-pop era, and they became known for “Under the Moon of Love,” “Three Steps to Heaven,” “When,” “You Got What It Takes” and the original “Hey Rock and Roll.” Showaddywaddy performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2016 after decades of touring theatres and festivals around the UK. In 2023, the band marked its half-century on the road with the 50th Anniversary Tour.
