Roupa Nova is a Brazilian pop-rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1980. Vocal harmonies, melodic soft rock and songs including “Dona,” “Whisky a Go-Go,” “Linda Demais,” “Volta pra Mim” and “Coração Pirata” established the group’s place in Brazilian popular music. Roupa Nova performed at the first Rock in Rio in 1985 and returned for the festival’s second edition in 1991. The band recorded the concert project RoupAcústico at Olympia in São Paulo in 2004, then marked three decades with the live album and video Roupa Nova 30 Anos, recorded at Credicard Hall in 2010.
