Artist
Ryudo Uzaki is a Japanese singer, composer and actor, born in Kyoto in 1946. He fronted Down Town Boogie-Woogie Band, the rock and kayōkyoku group behind “Minato no Yoko Yokohama Yokosuka.” His compositions set to lyrics by Yoko Aki include “Yokosuka Story,” “Playback Part 2” and “Sayonara no Mukōgawa,” all recorded by Momoe Yamaguchi. In 1973, he formed Down Town Boogie-Woogie Band and performed as its singer and guitarist until the group disbanded in 1981. He returned to a band format through Ryudo-gumi in 1985; the ensemble later performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival before disbanding in 1990. He then continued giving concerts under his own name, performing material from his bands and songs associated with Momoe Yamaguchi.
