Salvador Sobral in Barcelona

Salvador Sobral is a Portuguese singer-songwriter, born in Lisbon in 1989, whose music draws on jazz, soul and understated pop. He is best known for “Amar pelos dois,” written by his sister Luísa Sobral, which gave Portugal its first Eurovision Song Contest victory in 2017. His albums include Excuse Me, Paris, Lisboa, bpm and TIMBRE. In 2017, he performed “Amar pelos dois” at Festival da Canção before taking the song to the Eurovision stage in Kyiv. He returned to the contest during the 2018 final in Lisbon, where he performed “Amar pelos dois” and “Só Louco” with Caetano Veloso.
