About Sam The Kid
Sam The Kid is a Portuguese rapper and producer, born in 1979 and raised in the Chelas area of Lisbon. His detailed storytelling and sample-based production are central to albums including Sobre(tudo), Beats Vol. 1: Amor and Pratica(mente); “Poetas de Karaoke” and “Retrospectiva de um Amor Profundo” are among his best-known tracks.
Sam The Kid joined the instrumental hip-hop group Orelha Negra when it formed in 2009, taking his production work onto the stage as part of a live band. After releasing Mundo Segundo & Sam The Kid with Porto rapper Mundo Segundo, the pair performed the record together. He later appeared at Festival Iminente and Rock in Rio Lisboa.
