About Xutos & Pontapés
Xutos & Pontapés are a Portuguese rock band formed in Lisbon in 1978, with early roots in punk and new wave. Their best-known songs include “Contentores,” “Homem do Leme,” “A Minha Casinha,” “Não Sou o Único” and “Circo de Feras,” which also gave its name to one of their major albums.
The band played its first concert at Sociedade Filarmónica Alunos de Apolo on 13 January 1979. Decades of touring took them into arenas and stadiums: a performance at Pavilhão Atlântico was documented on Ao Vivo no Pavilhão Atlântico, and they celebrated their 30th anniversary at Estádio do Restelo in 2009.
