Sanam Marvi in Utrecht

Sanam Marvi is a Pakistani singer from Hyderabad, Sindh, whose repertoire centres on Sufi poetry and regional folk music in Sindhi, Punjabi, Saraiki and Urdu. Her performances on Coke Studio Pakistan brought wider attention to her interpretations of poets including Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Bulleh Shah and Sachal Sarmast, as well as songs such as “Yaar Vekho” and “Lagi Bina.” Her Coke Studio Pakistan appearances began in the programme’s third season, where she performed with its resident ensemble. She later carried that vocal-led concert format to Jahan-e-Khusrau in Delhi and to London’s Royal Festival Hall.
