Sanseverino in Louvain-la-Neuve

Sanseverino is the stage name of French singer, guitarist and songwriter Stéphane Sanseverino, who was born in Paris in 1961. He plays chanson shaped by swing and jazz manouche, pairing rapid guitar work with comic, sharply observed lyrics. His best-known records include Le Tango des gens, Les Sénégalaises and Exactement, while “La Cigarette” is among his signature songs. Live au Théâtre Sébastopol documents Sanseverino and his band performing in Lille, built around his guitar, sung narratives and spoken exchanges between songs. He later brought Papillon to theatres as a concert work drawn from the prison memoir by Henri Charrière.
