Sant Andreu Jazz Band in Barcelona

Sant Andreu Jazz Band is a Spanish youth jazz ensemble founded in Barcelona in 2006 by saxophonist and educator Joan Chamorro. The group plays swing, big-band jazz and Brazilian repertoire, and its Jazzing recordings have featured young musicians including Andrea Motis, Rita Payés and Eva Fernández. The ensemble was also the subject of the documentary A Film About Kids and Music. Sant Andreu Jazz Band has performed at the Palau de la Música Catalana in concerts featuring its large ensemble and a changing cast of singers and soloists. It is also central to the Jazzing Festival, which brings current members, alumni and invited jazz musicians together for concerts in Sant Andreu.
