Schürzenjäger in Lennestadt

Schürzenjäger are an Austrian band formed in the Zillertal in 1973, originally under the name Zillertaler Schürzenjäger. Their music encompasses Alpine folk, schlager and rock, and their best-known songs include “Sierra Madre,” “Zillertaler Hochzeitsmarsch” and “Schürzenjägerzeit.” The band’s annual open-air concerts in its Tyrolean home region became a central part of its live history. The 1993 edition was documented on Live Open Air Finkenberg, and the group ended its original run at the same site with a farewell concert in 2007. After re-forming in 2011, Schürzenjäger resumed touring and returned to the home-region open-air tradition at Alpen Air.
