Postmodern Jukebox is an American musical collective founded in New York by pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee in 2011. The group recasts contemporary pop and rock songs as swing, jazz, ragtime and doo-wop numbers, becoming known for versions of “All About That Bass” featuring Kate Davis, “Creep” featuring Haley Reinhart and “Thrift Shop” featuring Robyn Adele Anderson. The ensemble began touring Europe in 2014 and developed its online performance project into an international theatre show. Later engagements included Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London, while named productions such as the Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour and Life in the Past Lane Tour carried the format to further cities. A Postmodern Jukebox concert uses a live band and a rotating cast of vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers, often presenting several featured singers during one performance. The arrangements and period styling retain the revue structure established by Scott Bradlee.
