Screeching Weasel is an American punk band formed in Prospect Heights, Illinois, in 1986 by Ben Weasel and Jughead. Their fast, melodic pop-punk is represented by albums including Boogadaboogadaboogada, My Brain Hurts and Anthem for a New Tomorrow, as well as songs such as “Hey Suburbia” and “My Brain Hurts.” Screeching Weasel toured punk clubs with Green Day in the early 1990s, during the period surrounding My Brain Hurts and Wiggle. After subsequent breakups and reunions, the band returned to the stage for Riot Fest in Chicago in 2009.
The Queers are an American punk band formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1981 and led by singer and guitarist Joe Queer. Their fast, melodic pop-punk draws heavily on the Ramones and 1960s pop; the band is known for Lookout! Records albums such as Love Songs for the Retarded and Don't Back Down, as well as the song “Punk Rock Girls.” The Queers toured as an opening act for the Ramones during the latter band’s final years and went on to play punk clubs across the United States and Europe. Their festival appearances have included Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas and Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
