Seiko Matsuda in Osaka

Seiko Matsuda is a Japanese pop singer and actress, born in Kurume in 1962, who made her recording debut with “Hadashi no Kisetsu” in 1980. She became known through idol-pop songs including “Aoi Sangoshō,” “Akai Sweet Pea” and “Sweet Memories,” and remained closely associated with the sound of Japanese pop in the 1980s. Seiko Matsuda first performed at Nippon Budokan in 1982 and has returned to the venue repeatedly across her concert career. She later established annual summer tours and Christmas dinner shows, while her year-end performances have included countdown concerts at Osaka-jō Hall.
