Sex Pistols in Austin

Sex Pistols are an English punk rock band formed in London in 1975. Their original recording career produced the album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols and the singles “Anarchy in the U.K.,” “God Save the Queen” and “Pretty Vacant.” John Lydon fronted the group alongside guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock, who was replaced by Sid Vicious during the original run. The Anarchy Tour of 1976 placed Sex Pistols on a touring package that also included the Clash, the Damned and the Heartbreakers, although many dates were cancelled. Their 1978 US tour ended at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, after which the band split. The original members reunited for the Filthy Lucre Tour in 1996 and later played a run of shows at Brixton Academy in 2007.

Panic Shack are a Welsh punk band formed in Cardiff in 2018. Their wiry post-punk and garage-punk songs pair blunt humour with shouted choruses; the Baby Shack EP and tracks including “The Ick,” “Jiu Jits You” and “Mannequin Man” established their sound. Panic Shack toured the UK as support for Yard Act before building their own run of club and theatre dates. Their festival appearances have included Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds.
