Shaggy in Mashantucket

Shaggy is a Jamaican-American reggae and dancehall singer and deejay, born Orville Richard Burrell in Kingston in 1968. He became known through “Oh Carolina” and “Boombastic,” followed by the album Hot Shot and its singles “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” In April 2018, Shaggy and Sting performed together at the Royal Albert Hall for Queen Elizabeth II’s 92nd birthday concert. Their joint album 44/876 led to the 44/876 Tour, which took the pair through theatres, amphitheatres and arenas that year. Shaggy later performed on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury in 2023.

The Original Wailers are a reggae band formed in 2008 by former Bob Marley and the Wailers guitarists Al Anderson and Junior Marvin. The group performs songs including “Exodus,” “No Woman, No Cry” and “Could You Be Loved,” while its 2012 EP Miracle received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album. The Original Wailers began touring after their formation, taking the Wailers repertoire to clubs, theatres and festivals around the world. As the lineup changed, the concerts remained full-band performances centered on the guitar work and musical direction of Al Anderson.
