Shannon in Paris

Shannon is an American dance-pop and freestyle singer born in Washington, D.C., in 1958. Her 1983 debut single, “Let the Music Play,” helped establish the electronic dance sound that became known as freestyle; “Give Me Tonight” and the album Let the Music Play followed. Shannon has performed at recurring Freestyle Explosion arena concerts, presenting her early dance records in multi-artist shows devoted to freestyle and 1980s pop. She has also appeared at Forever Freestyle at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx, an event featuring performers including Lisa Lisa, TKA and Judy Torres.
