About Shawn Mendes
Shawn Mendes is a Canadian pop singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1998 and raised in Pickering, Ontario. He found an early audience by posting cover songs on Vine, then established his recording career with the albums Handwritten, Illuminate and Shawn Mendes. His best-known songs include “Stitches,” “Treat You Better,” “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” “In My Blood” and “Señorita,” recorded with Camila Cabello.
In 2015, he opened for Taylor Swift on the 1989 World Tour. His first major headlining runs included the Shawn Mendes World Tour and Illuminate World Tour, followed by the arena-based Shawn Mendes: The Tour in 2019. He began Wonder: The World Tour in 2022, but canceled its remaining dates to focus on his health.
Toronto hosted his 2019 stadium concert at Rogers Centre. That itinerary also brought him to Staples Center in Los Angeles and Bell Centre in Montreal.
