Shed Seven are a British indie-rock band formed in York in 1990. Closely associated with Britpop, they are known for songs including “Going for Gold,” “Chasing Rainbows,” “Disco Down” and “On Standby,” as well as the albums Change Giver and A Maximum High. In 1996, Shed Seven supported Oasis at Knebworth Park. After a farewell tour in 2003, they regrouped for a UK tour in 2007, and their recurring December concert runs later became known as Shedcember.
The Academic are an Irish indie-rock band formed in Mullingar in 2013. Their guitar-led songs include “Bear Claws,” “Different” and “Aftertaste,” while their albums include Tales from the Backseat and Sitting Pretty. In 2018, they opened for The Rolling Stones at Croke Park during the No Filter Tour. The following year, they returned to Dublin for their own outdoor headline concert at Iveagh Gardens.
