Shyne in San Antonio

Shyne is a Belizean rapper and politician who was born in Belize City and raised in Brooklyn. His deep, measured delivery became known through “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne,” both included on his self-titled 2000 debut for Bad Boy Records. He later released Godfather Buried Alive while incarcerated. In 2022, Shyne returned to a major US stage at the BET Awards, held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. He performed “Bad Boyz” during the career-spanning tribute to Diddy.

Barrington Levy is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer, born in Clarendon in 1964. His early recordings with producer Henry “Junjo” Lawes and the Roots Radics helped establish his distinctive high vocal style; his best-known songs include “Here I Come,” “Under Mi Sensi,” “Too Experienced,” “Murderer” and “Black Roses.” His 1984 appearance at Reggae Sunsplash captured him during dancehall’s early international expansion. Decades later, he performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2013.
