About Sinkane
Sinkane is the recording and performance project of Sudanese-American musician Ahmed Gallab, who grew up in Ohio and later settled in Brooklyn. He plays psychedelic funk shaped by Afrobeat, jazz and electronic pop. The catalogue includes the albums Mars, Mean Love and Life & Livin’ It, as well as songs such as “Runnin’” and “U’Huh.”
Sinkane performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2015 as a full band led by Ahmed Gallab. The band later brought material from Life & Livin’ It to an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert.
