Skindred are a Welsh band formed in 1998 and led by vocalist Benji Webbe. They play reggae metal built on heavy guitar riffs, reggae rhythms and ragga vocals. The band are known for songs including “Nobody,” “Warning” and “Gimme That Boom,” as well as the albums Babylon, Union Black and Kill the Power. Skindred have returned repeatedly to Download Festival, including a performance in 2011. In 2024, they headlined OVO Arena Wembley while touring the album Smile, supported by P.O.D. and As Everything Unfolds. During “Warning,” Benji Webbe asks the audience to hold clothing aloft and spin it overhead. The concert tradition is known as the Newport Helicopter. They have performed at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Hellfest in France.
Dead Pony are a Scottish band from Glasgow who play alternative rock shaped by punk and metal. Singer and guitarist Anna Shields fronts the group, whose debut album, Ignore This, arrived in 2024 and includes the track “MANA.” Dead Pony supported Mother Mother on a UK and European tour in 2022 before moving on to festival appearances at Download Festival and 2000trees.
