Artist
Sleaford Mods are a British post-punk and electronic duo based in Nottingham. Jason Williamson started the project in 2007, and Andrew Fearn joined in 2012. Williamson’s clipped spoken vocals and Fearn’s sparse beats shape albums such as Divide and Exit, Key Markets and English Tapas, as well as songs including “Jobseeker,” “Tied Up in Nottz” and “B.H.S.” In 2015, Sleaford Mods played the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival, returning to the event in 2019 for West Holts. They later toured behind Spare Ribs and UK Grim, playing theatres, large halls and festivals in Britain, continental Europe and North America. The established live setup features Fearn operating the backing tracks while Williamson delivers the vocals at the front of the stage. The duo perform using programmed bass, drums and samples rather than a conventional backing band. Sleaford Mods often play their home city of Nottingham, including Rock City, and their London headline dates have included the Roundhouse.
