Slowdive in Kuala Lumpur

Slowdive are an English shoegaze and dream-pop band formed in Reading in 1989. They are known for layered guitars and the intertwined vocals of Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead, especially on “Alison” and “When the Sun Hits” from Souvlaki. Their original run also produced Just for a Day and Pygmalion, while the albums Slowdive and everything is alive followed their reunion. Slowdive returned to the stage in 2014 at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in London, their first concert after disbanding in the 1990s. The reunited lineup then played Primavera Sound in Barcelona and went on to tour songs from both phases of the band’s catalogue. Slowdive perform as a five-piece: Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead sing and play guitar, joined by guitarist Christian Savill, bassist Nick Chaplin and drummer Simon Scott.
