Sly5thAve is an American saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and arranger raised in Austin and based in Brooklyn. He is known for instrumental music shaped by jazz, hip-hop and soul, particularly the album The Invisible Man: An Orchestral Tribute to Dr. Dre. His other major releases include What It Is and Liberation, a collaboration with keyboardist Roberto Verástegui. A 2015 concert at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles provided the foundation for The Invisible Man, placing his arrangements in an orchestral setting. He has also toured as a saxophonist with Quantic, performing this strand of jazz and groove-based music for club and festival audiences.
