Snatam Kaur in Los Angeles

Snatam Kaur is an American devotional singer and songwriter known for Sikh kirtan, mantra and sacred chant. Raised in a Sikh family in California, she has brought traditional texts into contemporary arrangements on albums including Grace, Anand, Liberation’s Door and Beloved. The Peace Through Sacred Chant Tour took her repertoire to theatres and concert halls across North America and Europe. She later presented music from Beloved on a tour built around the album’s meditative chants and devotional songs. Her concerts feature seated vocals and a live ensemble, and many pieces invite the audience into call-and-response chanting. Longtime concert collaborators have included guitarist Todd Boston and percussionist Ramesh Kannan.
