About Socks in the Frying Pan
Socks in the Frying Pan are an Irish traditional folk trio from Ennis, County Clare. The group comprises brothers Shane Hayes on accordion and Fiachra Hayes on fiddle and banjo, plus guitarist and singer Aodán Coyne. Their recordings include the self-titled debut, Return of the Giant Sock Monsters from Outer Space and Without a Paddle.
The trio recorded the live album Raw & Ríl at glór, documenting its established concert format before a hometown audience. The group also toured extensively in North America, performing in theatres, arts centres and at folk events.
Concerts are built around fiddle, accordion, banjo and guitar, combining instrumental sets with songs led by Coyne.
Their festival appearances included Milwaukee Irish Fest and Kansas City Irish Fest.
