About Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra
Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra is a Bulgarian symphony orchestra founded in 1928 in Sofia. The country’s national philharmonic performs the central European symphonic repertoire and music by Bulgarian composers, including Pancho Vladigerov.
Bulgaria Hall has long served as the orchestra’s principal concert venue, hosting its subscription concerts and appearances by guest conductors and soloists. In 2022, the orchestra made its Carnegie Hall debut under conductor Nayden Todorov, performing Vladigerov’s First Violin Concerto with Liya Petrova and Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony.
