Son Lux is an American experimental music group that began in 2008 as composer and vocalist Ryan Lott’s solo project, then became a trio with guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. Electronic textures, percussion and chamber-pop arrangements shape albums including Lanterns, Bones and Brighter Wounds>; “Easy” and “Lost It to Trying” are among their best-known songs. The trio also composed the score for Everything Everywhere All at Once, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score. A 2014 Tiny Desk Concert for NPR captured the developing trio around material from Lanterns. After Bhatia and Chang became permanent members, Son Lux toured as a three-piece and later performed songs from Brighter Wounds in a KEXP session. In 2024, the musicians performed their Everything Everywhere All at Once score live alongside an orchestra and guest vocalists at the Hollywood Bowl.
