Sophie Hunger in Hamburg

Sophie Hunger is a Swiss singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Bern in 1983. Her work draws on folk songwriting, jazz, rock and electronic pop; key releases include Monday’s Ghost, 1983, The Danger of Light, Molecules and Halluzinationen. “Walzer für Niemand” and her interpretation of Noir Désir’s “Le vent nous portera” are among her best-known recordings. In 2010, Sophie Hunger became the first Swiss artist to perform at Glastonbury Festival. She later toured European theatres around The Danger of Light and Molecules, moving between guitar, piano and full-band arrangements. Her festival history also includes repeated performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
